Mr. Chhun Chhum has been driving a motor taxi for three months. Mrs. Sopheak Cheav has been selling mangoes for six years. Chhun is applying for his first loan of $1,000 to help finance his wife's purchase of mangoes on contract. The loan will also be used to buy pesticides to protect the mangoes from insects.
Mr. Chhun Chhum, age 36, and his wife, Mrs. Sopheak Cheav, age 34, live along National Road Number One, approximately 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh City. They were married in 1995 and have three children: one son and two daughters. Two children attend school and the other one is still too young. The couple hopes to support their children's further education.
