Benkadi 3 De (benkadi A Tingolé) Group

The ten members of the group Benkadi 3 of the BENKADI A association are married women with an average age of 38 years old and 3 children. For the most part, these women live in polygamous marriages in Tingole, the capital of a rural commune under the prefecture of Fana, the second administrative region of Mali.
They work with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to get financial support for their winter labors. Largely, their labor surrounds the cultivation of sorgho and peanuts. This is their fifth loan from the institution and all of their previous loans were completely repaid on time.
With this new loan they will purchase fertilizer, pesticides, other basic tools, and pay the hoeing and labor fees that are required to cultivate 26 hectares.
Some of their cultivation is shared among the group members for personal consumption and the rest is sold in the Marka-Coungo and Fana markets after the harvest to male and female clients.
They believe that they will make an average profit of 30 000FCFA after the harvest and sale of their crops.

Les dix membres du groupe BENKADI 3 de l’association BENKADI A sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 38 ans et 3 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles polygames à TINGOLE chef lieu d’une commune rurale de la sous préfecture de FANA, 2ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le but d’avoir un soutien financier pour la réalisation de leurs activités hivernales. Leurs activités sont axées sur la culture du sorgho et de l’arachide. Elles sont à leur cinquième prêt avec l’institution et tous les prêts passés ont été remboursés à temps.
Avec ce nouveau prêt, elles achèteront de l’engrais, de l’herbicide, des petits matériels et payer les frais de sarclage et de labour pour entretenir 26 hectares.
Une partie de leur production est auto consommée et l’autre partie est vendue dans les marchés de Marka-Coungo et Fana, après les récoltes, à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elles comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 30 000FCFA après la campagne.
