The group Mujeres Solidarias (Women of Solidarity) was formed on Nov. 13, 2006, thanks to the work of former general director Aída Luz Rodas, who makes a living selling jewelry. She contacted an adviser about having weekly meetings with working women from the area. Once she was told about the group loan program, she was able to bring together 17 women who take a lot of pleasure in their work. The group has not had any problems during the loan cycles thanks to the members working together to make headway, and they have continued working with the program to this day. The average loan per member is 994.117 Gs., which will be used for different activities such as selling foods, selling haberdashery, selling items for grocery stores and kiosks (rice, sugar, noodles, milk products, breads, etc.), selling clothing, selling fruit, selling crafts and selling jewelery. All the members carry our their work to repay the funds and they help each other to reach the common goals that everyone has within the group and Kiva partner Fundación Paraguaya. The members actively participate in their weekly meetings and have impeccable solidarity.
