Lorng Sram

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Lorng Sram by CREDIT MFI -- World Relief in Cambodia. We are excited to watch this business grow. Mrs. Lorng Sram is doing well with her loan and has no problems paying it back. She first heard about CREDIT’s low interest loans from a loan officer who visited her village. She decided to ask for a loan from CREDIT because the interest rate of 2.5% per month is not very high and CREDIT provides a long loan term that she can afford. With the $1000 loan she received she began to build a house, purchased more pork for her butcher stall inventory, and used the remaining funds to purchase two piglets to raise on her land so that she can supply her own pork in the future and not need to pay a supplier.

She has used the additional income she has earned to reinvest in her business by purchasing another pig. She also uses the income to help support one of her children to start a butcher stall like herself. Her business faces challenges from falling sales in the rainy season of May-November when the ground in front of her stall is very slippery, resulting in fewer customers passing by. In the future, she would like to expand her store and by increasing the number of pigs she raises in order to supply her own inventory at a lower cost.
