After overcoming many hardships, including the loss of her husband to gun violence in 2002, Valarie has finally achieved her long-time dream of owning her own business.

Valarie is the owner of SPA-bulous! A Spa Retreat for FA-bulous Women! in Hayward, CA. SPA-bulous! is a place for women to rejuvenate themselves and also receive education on personal well-being. Valarie has a passion for helping women and keeps the spa open in the evening and weekends to give working mothers access to her services. In addition, SPA-bulous! donates free services to fundraisers for breast cancer, domestic violence, and other charities close to Valarie’s heart.

A single mother, Valarie continues to raise her three-year-old son, work a full time job, and run her business, while trying to complete her bachelor’s degree this fall. She also mentors other single mothers to stay motivated and keep their dream alive.

A $3,000 loan will allow Valarie to replace broken equipment at her spa, such as a steamer and facial bed.
