Son Of Man Group

Francis is a 43-year-old trader. He is married with eight children. Seven of them are schooling and his last is still nursing. For two years, he has sold used clothes in the local market in his community where he lives. He also sells by hawking during the market days in his surrounding communities. His major business challenge over the years has been obtaining funds to scale up the business. He has a lot of marketing experience and is very confident that the loan would enable him to achieve remarkable business progress. He wants to use the loan to buy more bales of used clothes to serve his customers. He hopes to save enough money to support his children's entire schooling.

He is the leader of a trust bank group called ‘Son of Man’. He is the one in the middle in the group photograph. Most of the members of this group are petty traders, food vendors and/or farmers. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access the loan and there is peer pressure to repay the loan.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
