Pictured here is the communal bank “Dios Proveerá” (God Will Provide), whose members have been working with Kiva partner Manuela Ramos for about four months. The majority of the women live in the Manantay district in the city of Pucallpa. Señora Loysi Pezo Paredes is 27 and is the president of “Dios Proveerá.”

“Dios Proveerá” has 12 members who are cheerful and seem to work well together. The group is still small and its members are optimistic about their businesses. They are requesting a loan of 8,200 Nuevos Soles in total, which each member plans to invest her portion in her business. This will be the group’s second loan with Manuela Ramos. The members of “Dios Proveerá” are taking seriously their commitment to make their loan payments. The women of this communal bank dedicate themselves to a variety of businesses including selling basic grocery goods, clothing, shoes, sheets, plantains, jewelry, soda, juice and cooked food.

The women are grateful to Manuela Ramos for the economic support provided by the organization. They are also happy to have the educational sessions conducted by Manuela Ramos loan officers at their monthly meetings, as these sessions will help them to further develop their businesses.
