Ulambayar Purevee

Ulambayar Purevee is 34 years old and lives with her husband and two children in the Bayanzurh district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Her son is 14 years old and goes to a local secondary school and her 4-year-old daughter stays home.

Ulambayar has a small business in shoe retail. She rents a small stall in the Hantalst shopping mall, one of the large indoor shopping centers in Ulaanbaatar. She sells women's and men's shoes that she brings from Ereen, China, a border town, where many inexpensive Chinese products are imported to Mongolia. Because Ulambayar chooses the
cheapest shoes, her shoes are sold fast and easily. Besides shoes, she also sells dried fruit at the market, which shoppers purchase as snacks.

Ulambayar says that she would like to continue building a small house that she has already started on the plot of land that her family owns. She would like to expedite the building process with profits from her business. She requests a loan to purchase more shoes for her business.
