Pedregal Group

The members of the Pedgregal community bank live in the town of Chifla, some 3 1/2 hours from Cusco, in the Peruvian province of Paruro.

The group has 10 members who make a living raising livestock and farming. They buy and sell cattle and smaller animals and keep birds. They buy young animals, then fatten and breed them so that they can sell what the animals produce for a higher return. They also work at farming, spending more or less time at it depending on the time of year. They still work the land in the traditional way, planting maize, various kinds of potatoes, green vegetables, barley, wheat and other products. They need the loan so that they can buy cattle and some smaller animals, along with seeds to sow their fields.

Our members are very grateful for the help that the receive and are committed to repaying the loan within the agreed-upon time.

Los miembros del banco comunal “PEDREGAL”, viven en la comunidad de Chifla que pretendes al distrito de Huanoquite provincia de Paruro, ubicado a 3 y 30 horas de la ciudad del Cusco.

Estos socios son un grupo de 10 miembros, alternando sus diferentes actividades y dedicados principalmente a la agricultura y a la ganadería, ellos compran y venden todo tipo de ganados vacunos y animales menores, aves de corral, ellos los compran muy tiernos y los hacen engordar y reproducir, de este modo ellos pueden vender sus derivados y vender la producción a mayor precio, por otro lado y dependiendo a los meses, ellos siguen dedicados a la agricultura, trabajan aún en forma arcaica las tierras, sembrando, maíz, diferentes variedades de papa, verduras, cebada, trigo y otros productos; para lo cuál ellos requieren el préstamo para poder comprar ganados y algunos animales menores, también unas semillas para la siembra de sus tierras.

Nuestros socios se encuentran muy agradecidos y valoran el esfuerzo realizado mediante este medio comprometiéndose así con cumplir en forma disciplinada con el pago total de sus préstamos en las fechas establecidas.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
