Yala Yana Group

In Senegal, fishing is an activity that has taken on economic, social, and cultural importance. The eco-village of Pointe Sarrène is found on La Petite Côte and 15 km past Mbour, on the road to Joal. It is characterized by its location on the coast. Wanting to create revenue-generating businesses, we the women of the group "Yala Yana" are requesting a loan from Kiva to process seafood (smoking, mixing, salt drying). We will market the finished products in the weekly markets and in hotels.

Au Sénégal, la pêche est une activité qui revêt une importance économique, sociale et culturelle. L’écovillage de pointe Sarrène se trouve sur la petite côte, à 15 km après Mbour, sur la route de Joal. Il se caractérise par sa situation géographique qui le situe au bord de la mer. Cependant voulant créer des activités génératrices de revenu, nous les femmes du groupement « Yala yana » sollicitons un prêt à Kiva pour faire la transformation (fumage, braisage, séchage au sel) de produits halieutiques. Le produit fini, nous le commercialisons dans les marchés hebdomadaires, les hôtels.
