Anastancia Nyabeta

Anastancia is a 45-year-old mother of four children who owns a kerosene pump in Mukuru slum in Nairobi. Previously, Anastancia owned a clothing store in Njoro in Western Kenya, but her home and business were destroyed during tribal clashes. Anastancia was forced to relocate to Nairobi with her children, leaving her husband behind, and she started her business in Mukuru.

Anastancia has requested her first loan of Ksh. 40,000 to open a retail shop in another location. She also aspires to operate a wholesale business, own rental units, and learn to do dairy farming. On a personal level, Anastancia hopes to be reunited with her husband, and to support her children until they are self-reliant. She describes herself as determined and self-respecting.
