Joaquim Xavier Joao was born in Inhambane, he is 30 years old, studied until the 10th grade and lives with his wife and 3 sons the oldest is 11 years old, the next is 5 years old and the youngest is 3 months old. The two oldest go to school.
Joaquim left Inhambane and went to the municipality of Vila de Namaacha at the frontier with Suazilandia to live with his sister when he finished the 8th grade, because where he was living they didn't have the next level. When he arrived to Namaacha he continued with his studies during the night. During the morning his sister got him a job in the jungle with a renewable contract every 3 months for 2 years. Years later he was a volunteer member of the organization called (OJM) Organization of Mozambique Youth and was entrusted as assistant of the administration and finances department. Since then he has been working for the past 5 years earning a monthly salary of 3,300.00MT working from 7am to 5pm and Saturdays from 5am to 6pm when there are visits from the chiefs of the state department, he receives a subside of 1,500.00MT but it doesn't fulfill his necessities so he came to Hluvuku to request a loan to start building his house and receives 12,000,00MT. He is able to save 500.00MT a month because he rents the place where he lives at 800.00MT monthly.

This is the third loan Joaquim is requesting to Hluvuku and first with Kiva. The 12,000MT will be used to buy material for construction to build the ceiling of his house, he is confident he will pay before the due date and probably by the end of the year he will be living in his own house.
