Mrs. Naov Shem Village Bank Group

This village bank, which consists of eighteen members, is located in Tareap Doun village in Kandal province. The members plan to use the loan for different purposes. Mrs. Naov Shem is the village bank president, and was selected by the members. She sells fish at the local market. Her husband, Mr. Sab Van Hong, is a fisherman. He is facing a challenge with his fishing, because he does not have enough materials to support his work. Thus, Mrs. Naov Shem decided to ask for a loan to purchase fishnets for her husband’s work.

She is a 48 year old mother of eight children, two of whom are employed in a garment factory while the other two are fishermen, one stays at home to do housework, and the others are enrolled in the local school. Mrs. Sokhneang Lay was not present for the picture, so her husband is presented in the photo instead.
