Hadjah is the leader of a 4-member group. She is a 52 years old and married with nine children aged between 15 and 33 years. Four of her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members. She resides in and owns a three-roomed house where she lives with seven people. There is electricity and piped water at her home and the family gets three meals a day.

Hadjah resides and works in a semi-urban area which is in the outskirts of Kampala. She deals in local gin in Bakuli, one of the Kampala suburbs and has been in this business for the last eleven years. She sells mainly wholesale and sells to an average of twenty people a day. She sells to adults, excluding children. She works six days a week. She uses public transportation to and from shopping from Kampala city and goes for shopping twice a week. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and rent for the business premises.

Hadjah has been with MCDT for over seven years and is servicing her eighteenth loan, working with the same group members. She wants to use this loan to buy more jerrycans of local gin and to pay school fees for her children at higher institutions of learning. Hadjah is aspiring to seeing her business grow bigger.
