Kumondor, the group’s leader has raised four children. She is disabled (has one kidney) and obtains a pension. Nevertheless, not used to depend on someone, she earns her living by sewing bags and packages and sells them wholesale or to her individual customers. A friend of hers inspired Kumondor to start this business and, during five years, she has gained great experience and knowledge. She amused her family with the profits and now even one of her sons and her husband help her by cutting and packing the material. She started her business with only one sewing machine and gradually bought several other models.

Kumondor’s daughter is getting married and Kumondor needs a loan to help her with the wedding. Another of her future plans is to help her son get married. Kumondor is an example of a rare parent, who in spite of their age (49), and health problems, in a self-sacrificing way continues to support their family, helping their children financially.

Gulnara, Gulzat and Aigul are the rest of the group’s members.

Gulnara is forty-four and is the mother of six children. She sews bags and distributes them among her friends in a market. Now she needs a loan to purchase new models of sewing machine and to get one broken one mended.

Gulzat, 39, is married and is raising four children, all of whom go to school. She teaches Kyrgyz language and literature at a local school. Inspired by her neighbors’ success she wants to obtain a loan to start her own business of raising cattle.

Aigul, a married woman of forty-four is the mother of three children. She brings bull-calves, horses and sheep from Naryn and pastures them to resell them in a cattle market. She needs a loan to increase her turnover and make some renovations at home.
