Bilquisan Ashiq Muhammad Group

Bilquisan baji is the group leader of four other women who all live in Vehari, Pakistan. They all are very hard-working ladies. They handle their own businesses of embroidering clothes to share the financial burden of their husbands. Bilquisan baji is married to Ashiq Muhammad, who is a carpenter who makes furniture on order to earn income. He has 10 years of experience in this business. Bilquisan baji is applying for a loan to buy wood and nails for her husband’s furniture-making business.

This group loan consists of four additional people:

Irshad baji wants a loan to buy clothes to sell.
Bashiran baji and Shazia baji each want a loan to buy a donkey cart for loading.
Rashida baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
