Luz

Luz is 20 years old; she lives with her husband and her 8-month old baby at her in-laws’ home. To make a living, she sells cattle as well as smaller livestock. Luz currently has two cows and a calf, which she will sell at her town's livestock market once it reaches the required size and weight. This is a very profitable activity, in spite of the risks, which include animal theft. To prevent the animals from being stolen, she keeps them well protected in her cowshed. Luz would like to start improving the breed of her stock, which would allow her to set a higher price for the animals. She would also like to start selling bulls. This is her second loan from MFP. With the loan, she will buy alfalfa seed to grow feed for her animals. She will also buy a cow with better stock.

Luz tiene 20 años, vive con su esposo y su bebé (de 8 meses de nacido) en casa de sus suegros. Se dedica a la venta de ganado y otros animales menores, en la actualidad posee 2 vacas y un becerro que más adelante, cuando llegue a un tamaño y peso adecuado venderá en la feria ganadera de su ciudad. Este trabajo es muy rentable, a pesar de que tiene sus riesgos, como el robo de los animales; pero para ello toma precauciones resguardándolos muy bien en su establo. En adelante, Luz va a mejorar la raza de su ganado, pues así podría vender cada animal a un mayor precio, así como también desea empezar a vender toros. Esta es la segunda vez que tiene un préstamo con MFP, el dinero que ahora solicita lo invertirá en la compra de semillas para sembrar alfalfa para el consumo de sus animales y también comprará una vaca de mejor raza.
