Irma Coral Morales

Irma Coral Morales is a member of the communal bank “Manos Maravillosas” (Marvellous Hands) and lives in the city of Pucallpa. She has a small cart from which she sells cooked foods such as french fries and hot dogs, fried chicken, hamburgers, and “juanes” (a rice dish typical of the region). Every evening Irma brings her cart out to the main road near her home to sell her meals. Irma’s two adult daughters (aged 20 and 21) help her with this business.

Irma has been working with Manuela Ramos for 2.5 years and plans to invest this loan of 1500 Nuevos Soles in new pots and food for her business.

Irma is separated from her husband and lives with her three children; the youngest is a 13-year-old son. All depend on her. Irma is very thankful to be working with Manuela Ramos. With the help of her loans from Manuela Ramos Irma has been able to expand her business, improve her home, and purchase many basic household items. Although Irma has health problems, she wants to continue working at her food cart at least until January in order to support one of her daughters through university. At that time she hopes her eldest daughter can take over most of the work so Irma can dedicate herself to a less strenuous job.
