We Are One Group

Fatu is a 45-year-old woman with five children. Her oldest child is 20 and her youngest child is 3. Her two oldest children have already cleared high school and her remaining three are still in government schools.

Fatu makes money to support her family by selling raw pepper at one of the local food markets. She has been doing this business since she was very small - she can’t even remember when she did not do it. She says that she does not want to change businesses because this is the one that she knows and she knows she can sell at a good price.

With her loan today, she hopes to buy two or three bags of pepper. But she explains that sometimes, after considering transportation fees and bargaining issues, it may be that she can only afford one bag with the loan she has taken.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
