Construction of Rosalina Udodo's home is coming along well. With her loan from Kiva she was almost able to complete construction. She still needs to put a roof on the home and will look to take out further microloans to do so. Provided she can take out the necessary loans and construction continues along at its current pace Rosalina will be able to move into her home within a year. This will be an important move for her family of 5 as they currently live in very confined quarters.

Rosalina is a teacher at the local agricultural institute. She was been working there for the past 27 years and at this point is a real expert on all topics. She puts her expertise into practice on two small plots of land that she owns.

About housing in Mozambique: In rural Mozambique many people still do not live in proper homes. Years of civil war and economic shocks have inhibited residents from accessing capital and buying building materials for their homes. The last several years have been relatively prosperous and many residents are using micro finance as a means to commence construction of their home.
