Lucia

Lucia is 54 years old and, together with her husband, is trying to provide better living conditions for their only son. That is why they built their own house, where they are now living comfortably. When they finished constructing their home Lucia thought about setting up a business. She began by selling beverages during the summer, but soon her customers were asking for many more items. This led to Lucia establishing her grocery store. She has been involved in this activity for 5 years. She begins work at 6 in the morning by tidying up the store, arranging her products, and getting ready to attend to her customers with a big smile. Lucia tells us that one of the secrets to selling a lot of products is to provide suitable attention to her customers, and having that attitude will guarantee her business’s development and profitability. In the near future Lucia wants to expand her store, setting up an additional space in her home. She thinks that the work she does in her communal bank is very important, since she works together with all of the members of her group, using the loans as a good development alternative. This is Lucia’s 13th loan with Kiva partner Microfinanzas PRISMA. She will use the 3000 soles she is requesting to expand the premises of her store.

Lucia tiene 54 años y junto a su esposo tratan de brindarle las mejores condiciones de vida a su único hijo, por ello construyeron su casa propia donde viven cómodamente. Cuando terminó la construcción de ésta pensó en instalar un negocio, comenzó vendiendo bebidas durante el verano, pero con el tiempo las personas demandaban muchas cosas más, lo cual fue el inicio de su bodega. Esta actividad la viene realizando hace 5 años trabajando desde las 6 de la mañana aseando su local, arreglando sus productos y preparándose para atender a sus clientes con una gran sonrisa, pues más importante que vender en demasía es brindar una atención adecuada a sus clientes ya que esa actitud garantizará el desarrollo y rentabilidad de su negocio, nos dice. Para un futuro cercano, Lucia quiere ampliar su tienda acondicionando un espacio adicional en su casa. Ella considera que el trabajo que realiza en su banco comunal es primordial, puesto que lo realiza en comunión con todas las integrantes de su grupo, utilizando estos créditos como una alternativa de desarrollo. Para Lucia este es su 13vo préstamo con Microfinanzas PRISMA. Los 3000 soles que solicita los usará para la ampliación del local de su tienda.
