Betty

Betty is a 56 year-old woman. Recently, she has worked very hard in order to earn the necessary income for the construction of her own home, which is still in progress. She hopes that it will be finished soon so that she can have security and comfort. Right now she lives in the home of her mother-in-law.

In the time that she has been married, she has learned the business of her spouse, and now has a support role in his business, a role where she is in charge of the administration of the contracts. They rent scaffolding (metal supports) which are required for construction. In the same way, the business, which they have with their children in the city market, serves the requests for the creation or repair of diverse construction materials. This venture began 3 years ago, during which, along with her spouse and children, Betty works in the shop from 9 in the morning until 6 in the evening. Betty says that in the company of her family, the work seems less tedious. Together they plan to grow their business so that they can provide better services in the field of construction.

This is her 18th loan with Microfinanzas PRISMA, and as part of her community bank, Betty tries to support all of her fellow members to help them develop and grow. The 3200 Peruvian Soles she seeks she will us to invest in the purchase of some materials which she plans to rent to improve their services.

Betty es una mujer de 56 años, los últimos años ha trabajado mucho para tener los ingresos necesarios para la construcción de su casa propia, la cual está en proceso y espera pronto se termine para tener seguridad y comodidad, ya que por el momento vive en la casa de su suegra. En el tiempo que lleva casada aprendió el oficio de su esposo, ahora es un apoyo dentro del negocio, puesto que es la encargada de la administración de los contratos. Ellos se dedican al alquiler de andamios (soportes de metal) que requieren para las construcciones, de la misma forma apoya en el negocio que tiene con sus hijos en el mercado de la ciudad donde atienden los pedidos de elaboración o reparación de diversos materiales de construcción. Esta actividad la viene desempeñando con mayor compromiso desde hace 3 años, tiempo en el que, junto a su esposo e hijos, atienden su taller desde las 9 de la mañana hasta las 6 de la tarde. Betty menciona que en compañía de su familia las labores son menos pesadas y juntos tienen proyectado ampliar su negocio para dar mejores servicios bajo el rubro de construcción. En Microfinanzas PRISMA este es su crédito número 18 y como parte de su banco comunal trata de apoyar a todas sus compañeras para trabajar en conjunto por el desarrollo y crecimiento de ellas mismas. Los 3200 soles que solicita los invertirá en la compra de algunos materiales que tiene pensado adquirir para alquilar y ampliar sus servicios.
