Ameena Haq Nawaz Group

This group has 5 members. The leader, Ameena baji, is a widow and has lived in Vehari, Pakistan for the last 15 years. Her husband died in an accident. She had no financial resources but she never lost courage. She started an embroidered clothes business. Through this business she able to send her kids to school and pay off the utilities. She is applying for a loan to buy material (beads, colored thread and clothes) to expand her business. Noor Fatima baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Zeba and Syeda baji each want a loan to buy material (beads, colored thread and clothes) for their embroidered clothes business. Shazia baji wants a loan to buy rice sacks to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee the other loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
