Teopista Kyazze Group

Teopista doesn’t take care of any additional family members. There is electricity but no piped water at her home. The family gets three meals a day. She resides and works in a semi-urban area which is on the outskirts of Kampala.

Teopista operates a restaurant in Kamwokya market, in one of the Kampala suburbs. She sells to an average of 30 people a day and sells to all categories of people. She works six days a week. She doesn’t incur any transport costs as she buys at her place of work from suppliers who get food from the villages.

Her major monthly expenses include medication, rent for the business, feeding the family. She has been in this business for the last seven years Teopista has been with MCDT for over ten years and is servicing her twentieth loan, working with the same group-mates. She wants to use this loan to buy more food and charcoal and cutlery. Teopista aspires to see her business grow bigger and own permanent business premises.
