Tsolmon Dashdorj is 49 years old, married and the mother of 6 children. Her family lives in the Ger district in the central province. Her children are between the ages of 15 and 28. Two of her children have graduated from university, and another two children are in university. Her children work for the business, but her husband does not work for the business. He has been working for a government organization for the last 20 years, focusing on agriculture.
Since 2001, she has been running a retail business that processes sheep wool and makes handicrafts such as shoes, souvenirs and necklaces. Together with World Vision, she leads training on processing wool to train other business men and women.
Tsolmon has a stall in the local market. During the evening, she makes souvenirs or teaches her children to make the products. With the profits from her business, she paid for four of her children's university tuition. She says that she has been running this business for a long time, and it is very profitable. She wanted to increase her working capital to pay for all of her children's tuition fees, feed her family and expand her business. With this loan, she will buy sheep wool, pearls and wire to make necklaces. She also wants a wool processing machine and wool brush.
