Chhit Sum's Group

This small loan is for four borrowers who hope to use the loan for different purposes. Chhit Sum, 53, has been selected to be the leader by the other members. She is a widowed woman who has given birth to five children: three are single and the others are married and live independently. She stays at home to take care of her children and maintain a daily routine. The entire family’s daily expenses are covered by her four employed children: two daughters are garment workers, while her two sons work as blacksmiths in the village. Chhit Sum’s children have been facing difficulty with transportation for a long time. They always hire taxis to get to work. To cut down on the cost of transportation, Chhit Sum is applying for a loan to purchase a motor for her children to ride to work.

Mr. Chea is a staff member for a gasoline station, seeking a loan to buy a motor for driving to work.
Mrs. Sokhon, 48, sells some vegetables in the market. She is asking for a loan to buy more vegetables to sell.
Mr. Pov is a community consultant adviser, requesting a loan to purchase grocery items for his wife to sell. He was not available for the photo so his wife is in the photo instead.





About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
