Paglaum MPC was created to give programs and services to those who are in need of financial assistance and to provide training with regard to business. Jethro Ongayo became a member of Paglaum in July of 2008. Jethro lacked financial capital for his sari-sari store. (The word sari-sari is Tagalog for "various kinds".) Jethro had only enough money to build the variety store. He is requesting PHP 20,000 to buy additional goods for sale. He is thankful that he now has income for his family. In the future, Jethro hopes to expand his business to a mini-grocery store and for his family to have a house of their own.
