San Silvestre Group

The San Silvestre group is made up of sixteen members who are represented by Leonidas. The majority of the group members are farmers who grow rice and sugar cane. The rest of the members sell replacement parts, empanadas, and groceries in neighborhood stores. Some members knit wool sweaters.

In spite of the great number of competitors, the members believe in the quality of their products. But, they need capital to invest in work tools and raw materials to increase their income and improve their families’ quality of life.

The group is relatively new, but they have experience with previous loan from entities that are similar to the Agrocapital foundation. Agrocapital offers them economic support to expand and improve their small businesses.

El grupo “San Silvestre” esta conformada por 16 miembros representados por el señor Leonidas. Una mayoría de los miembros del grupo se dedican a la agricultura de arroz y caña, el resto de los socios se dedican a la venta de repuestos, empanadas, abarrotes en tiendas de barrio y al tejido de chompas de lana. A pesar de los altos niveles competitivos los socios creen en la calidad de sus productos pero necesitan capital para invertir en herramientas de trabajo y materia prima para incrementar sus ingresos y mejorar la calida de vida de sus familias. El grupo es relativamente nuevo pero cuentan con la experiencia de créditos anteriores en entidades similares a la fundación Agrocapital quien les brinda un apoyo económico para crecer y mejorar sus pequeños negocios.


About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
