Corazon is 50 years old and is the widow of Elpidio Tomines. She has eight children: five were able to finish the secondary level of education; her sixth child, Jaypee, is 15 years old and has stopped attending high school because of financial difficulties; while Corazon, 11 years old, and Michelle, 8 years old are both studying in the primary level.
Corazon is a vendor of native cakes which she sells in the public market of their town of Naguillan, Isabela. She cooks and sells her native cakes and is doing her best to develop the business to be able to generate a higher income for the education of her two younger children. She is hoping that somehow, through her business, she can increase her standard of living.
Corazon is requesting a loan of PHP 6,000 as additional working capital in the production of her native snacks. She further said that “in every sacrifice, there is a prize.” She is hoping that her prize will be enough to support her family’s daily needs.
