Maritza is 30 and lives in her own house that she and her husband recently finished building. She has only one son, Javier. She earns her living selling basic food items, so she can be seen at 6:00AM cleaning and fixing up her shop with great care. In addition, she talks with each and every customer and neighbor that passes through her grocery store, since she knows that it's thanks to them she can earn the income for her household.

Maritza treats her customers with the experience and patience she has gained in her three years in this business. She hopes to increase her inventory in the future. The hardest part for Maritza is when a product has not been sold by its expiration date, resulting in losses that she regrets. She really appreciates her business, and even though she's not earning too much right now, she has made a number of friends to talk to, which is what pleases her most.

This will be Maritza's second loan with MFP. With her last loan, she had the will to pay and prevented herself from ever falling behind by making payments in advance. She is very happy and comfortable with her village bank. She plans to use her loan to increase the number of basic food items in her grocery store.
