Update on your loan to El Pari group in Bolivia

Entrepreneur: El Pari Group
Location: Location Undisclosed, Bolivia

Today, I went to a Pari group meeting and I had the opportunity to chat with the women about the impact of their Kiva loan on their businesses.

Beatriz sells clothing, mainly to loyal clients that have known her for the two years that she has been selling. She used to work in an Internet company, but she left that job since she wanted to be at home with her baby who is one year and three months old. She tells me, “As a woman, it’s good to have your own business and be independent. Even though you have your husband, it’s not good to have to depend on him.” Beatriz used her loan to buy merchandise, save, and pay rent on her home. She’s very happy that she is able to spend the whole day with her baby as she travels around the city selling and delivering clothing orders. In the future, Beatriz would like to have a greater variety of merchandise, more clients, and more profits. She adds with a laugh, “My dream is to have a car someday.” It would be much easier for Beatriz to transport her merchandise with a car, since right now she carries all of the clothing and her baby in buses across the city.

Maria Eugenia used to work in a home appliances store 12 hours a day, but she left that job six months ago and used her loan to started selling catalog clothing from a Columbian company since she wanted to be at home to care take of her two children, who are 12 and 1.5 years old. “You always have to find another way to move forward,” she says. She tells me that her quality of life has improved a lot since she now makes a higher income and can be with her baby daughter for the majority of the day. She has spent her profits on food, doctor’s visits, and school materials for her children. In the future, Maria wants to keep working and saving so that her children can go to college. “I never went to college,” she told me, “But I want to make it possible that my kids do.” Also, she tells me that she would like to “keep progressing” and someday buy a house for her family.

Yoali has sold Yanbal cosmetics door-to-door for two years and used her loan to buy more merchandise, which has increased her profits. She is a single mother of a 4-year-old who is in preschool, and has been able to provide better for her baby with her increased profits. Yoali likes takes out loans from AgroCapital since “it’s easy to pay and not complicated.” She dreams of studying tourism and then working in a hotel. She wants to start her studies once her child starts kindergarten and she has some more time.

If these entrepreneurs interested you, consider lending to more AgroCapital clients here.
