Irene

Irene is 52 years old and lives in her own house with her oldest daughter who is 16. For more than 16 years she has been selling milk products (yogurt, butter and cheese). She began with little but now she distributes to regular clients at the markets in her area.

Generally she sells on credit, delivers her products, and after a time agreed upon with the client, she returns to collect payment. With this type of work she is constantly traveling to the small towns around her city, both to stock up and to sell her products. Up until now her sales have been producing good results and she can meet all her household expenses, so she plans to continue working the same way.

This is the 6th time she has had a loan from MFP. She had withdrawn from the communal bank for a while because of travel, but she has now returned because her fellow members know that she is responsible with her payments and she promises to continue this way. The loan she is requesting is to purchase a larger quantity of cheese and butter.

Irene tiene 52 años, vive en su casa propia con su última hija de 16 años. Desde hace más de 16 años vende productos lácteos (yogurt, mantequilla y quesos), se inició con poco, pero ahora reparte a los clientes regulares que tiene en las ferias comerciales cercanas a su localidad. Generalmente vende al crédito, reparte sus productos y luego de un tiempo, acordado con el cliente, regresa para el cobro. Con este tipo de trabajo realiza viajes constantes a las zonas aledañas a su ciudad, tanto para abastecerse, como para vender sus productos. Hasta el momento sus ventas han dado buenos resultados y puede sostener ella sola la economía de su casa, por lo que tiene planes de seguir con la misma modalidad de trabajo. Esta es la sexta vez que tiene un crédito con MFP, ella se retiró por una temporada de su banco comunal, por motivo de viaje, pero ahora se reintegra porque sus compañeros conocen que es una persona responsable en sus pagos, además que ella misma se compromete a seguir trabajando así. El dinero que está solicitando es para adquirir mayor cantidad de mercadería en quesos y mantequilla.
