Aba Hamidu

Aba Hamidu is married and has three children. She has not received any formal education. Aba's husband is a trader, but his income is too small to care for the family. Since 2003 Aba has operated a small chop bar in Abura, where she cooks rice and stew. She uses her earnings to pay her children's school fees and to buy food for the family. Aba will use her loan to buy rice, oil, tomatoes and other ingredients so that she can increase the amount of food she cooks and sells. With the new profits from her expanded trade, Aba plans to both reinvest in her business and save in the Susu savings scheme.
