The Kotognogontala group is made up of seven married women all monogamous who are on average 37 years old and average three children each. They live in the hamlet of Bougoula, one of the rural villages in Sikasso (third administrative region in Mali).

They conduct various activities, among others the sale of fish, cups, fabric, condiments, and cereals.

This is their fifth collaboration with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to meet the customers demand that keeps on rising. All the previous loans have been fully reimbursed.

With this loan they would like to buy 20 boxes of condiments, 30 100kg bags of cereals, 10 pieces of pagnes Wax [traditional wrap around fabric] and 20 baskets of fish. Supplies are gotten at the grand marketplace of the town of Sikasso, in the surrounding villages , in Mopti (fifth administrative region of Mali) and in Burkina Fasso (a country neighboring Mali). The goods are sold on the various markets in the town of Sikasso, from home, and door to door to customers made up of women and men. They sell retail and above all for cash.

They are planning to each make an average monthly profit of 23,000 CFA [about $50]. One part will be used for the clothing and health care of the children and the other will be invested in the business and the repayment of the loan.

PREMIER ET DERNIER FEED BACK

Entrepreneur: Kotognogontala Group
Location: Sikasso, Mali
