My name is Salam and I have lived in Kasur, Pakistan, for the past fifteen years. Kasur city is famous for its shrines and for its sweetmeats.

I run a paranda-making business. A paranda is an item used to tie back the hair tightly. I can prepare simple and stitched parandas easily, and then I sell them in the community to earn income. My husband name is Malik Muhammad din who is a daily-wage laborer. I do this business to manage the financial expenses because my husband’s earnings are insufficient. I am applying for a loan to buy material (thread, beads) to expand my paranda-making business.

I’m the group leader of three other women from my locality:

Farhat baji wants a loan to buy clothes for her clothes-selling business.

Sakina baji wants a loan to buy material (thread and beads) for her paranda-making business.
