Salome Pomaa

Salome Pomaa is thirty-eight years old. She is married and has given birth to three children, two sons and a daughter. She says some are in junior high while others are in primary school. She lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a town called Kofiase. Kofiase is a farming/trading community near Dormaa, the district capital, in the Brong Ahafo region. Her husband is a mason by profession.

Salome is a petty trader. She sells all kinds of vegetables – tomatoes, peppers, garden eggs (small eggplants), etc. Salome sells on a table top in the market square. She procures her vegetables from farmers in nearby communities at cost-effective prices. She has been in business for one year now and wants a loan to procure goods in bulk. She is hopeful to expand her business and give her children the best education she can afford.
