Meriam Buensalida

Meriam Buensalida is from the village of San Vicente Bajo, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. She is 41 years old. Meriam is married. To make a living, Meriam owns and operates a business venture in the retail sector: a "sari-sari store" or general store. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from selling daily-use products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc. in the local community. Meriam has been engaged in her business for over 10 years and earns approximately 6,000 PHP a month from this activity.

In 2009, Meriam joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Meriam is requesting a new loan of 4000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products to sell in her "sari-sari store". This loan will be the first loan taken out by Meriam from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to save as a reserve for future emergencies for herself and for her family.
