Thanks to her loan with Kiva, Lucia was able to grow vegetables in her backyard, where she now has grown a variety of them, such as: chayote, lettuce, and cabbage. She was also able to invest in adequate fertilizers and other products that protected her crops from the plagues previously affecting and killing them. She has now requested a third loan with Alsol. Given her good credit history with the local partner, Lucia has been able to increase her loan amounts each time. She is grateful to lenders who have helped her improve her life conditions by allowing her to grow crops in her house and to secure an additional income for her household. I also met Lucia’s third son who was born four months ago. They are standing in the center of the picture. Her three children look quite healthy and well fed.

Gracias a su préstamo Kiva, Lucia ha podido cultivar de manera adecuada distintos vegetales, como chayote, lechuga y repollos. Su principal inversión fue en la compra de fertilizantes y otros productos que le permitieron proteger sus cultivos de plagas que anteriormente los habían afectado y hasta extinguido. Ella ha solicitado un tercer préstamo a Alsol para seguir creciendo su negocio. Dado su buen historial crediticio con esta institución local, Lucia ha podido incrementar el monto de sus préstamos. Ella esta agradecida con los prestamistas de Kiva por permitirle cultivar en su propia casa asegurando así un ingreso adicional y seguro. Tuve oportunidad de conocer a su tercer hijo, quien nació hace apenas 4 meses. Sus tres hijos se ven muy saludables y bien alimentados.
