Mamuna Aminu

Mamuna Aminu is 34 years-old. She is married with two children who are currently in school. She lives in Dorma Ahenkro which is in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. She is a food vendor and sells waakye and banku. Waakye is cooked rice and beans that is usually served with stew, macaroni, and fish. Banku is prepared from milled maize and is usually eaten with soup or stew. It is sold in the mornings as breakfast. It is very tasty and satisfying and almost all tribes in Ghana enjoy both dishes. She also sells other food stuffs in the market. She wants to use the loan to buy more bags of rice, beans, and tubers of yams to increase her stock of goods. With the loan she believes she can help support her husband in taking care of the family needs. She belongs to a village bank called ‘‘Hwe die Nyame Aye’ which means See What the Lord Has Done.
