Maqboolan Maqsood Ahmad Group

Maqboolan baji and her husband Maqsood ahmad own a two room brick house in Kasur, Pakistan, where they have been living with their family for the past 14 years. For the past 5 years, her husband has run a business selling ladies clothes. Maqboolan baji also operates a business, sewing clothes, to share the financial burden of her husband. She is applying for a loan to buy garments for her husband’s business.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Abida baji, Bilquis baji, Sana baji and Sabra baji each want a loan to buy clothes to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
