KENOU Blandine is 34 years old and was born in Lokossa, in Mono County. She is married to a city taxi driver. She sells staple foods (corn, millet, sorghum, peanuts, beans, cassava flour, and yam chips) at the grand international market of Benin (Dantokpa) in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Thanks to the revenues from her business, she is helping her husband enormously with household expenses. She is also financing the schooling for her brothers and sisters, again, thanks to those revenues.

Blandine has already been the recipient of four loans with Alidé for developing her business. To bolster her working capital and to increase her business volume, so as to do better in satisfying her customers, she’s requesting a fifth loan from Alidé.

Alidé means “there is always a path for the poorest” in Benin’s local language of Fon. Benin is a small West African country located next to Nigeria and has a per capita GDP of $1,500.
