Ilinka turned 57 is 2009, but rain or shine, still works hard in the field. In addition to gardening and pig-raising, she has taken up honey-production and has two beehives in her back yard. Despite the high amount of rain at the beginning of the summer, the land is dry and Ilinka had to pay a man with a tractor to plow because working manually in the hard soil is almost impossible. She has used the rest of her loan of 1,500KM to buy seeds and pigs, for her bees, and to pay for other agricultural services. Ilinka shares that she could not do anything without credit and thanks Kiva Lenders. She only hopes to be healthy and able to work until possible to help her daughter in raising Ilinka's grandson.
