AMADOU Moynatou was born around 1960 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. She is married to AFFOTON Kabirou, a chauffeur by profession. She is the mother of four children (3 boys and a girl). The two oldest are of age; only the last two children, namely Toundé and Kèfil, are still supported by their parents. Toundé and Kèfil are respectively in the last year and the first year of high school. Moynatou and her husband ensure that family expenses are met.

Moynatou sells medical alcohol retail and wholesale. There, at the PHARMAQUIK (an enterprise that makes generic medicines in Benin), she acquires her supplies of alcohol. She has already had three ALIDÉ loans, which she repaid and which she used to bring her business along to a higher level. Today, she's requesting a fourth loan to bolster her working capital and to satisfy her customers better. Thus, she's going to be able to increase her revenues to do better in meeting family needs.

ALIDÉ means “there is always a path for the poorest” in Benin’s local language of Fon. Benin is a small West African country located next to Nigeria and has a per capita GDP of $1,500.
