Adwoa Mansa

Adwoa Mansa is thirty-seven years old. She is married and has given birth to six children including two sons and three daughters. According to her, some of her children have dropped out of school and the rest are in the primary school. She lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a busy fishing/commercial town called Mankessim, near Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana. Her husband is a corn-mill operator while she is a trader.

Adwoa works to support her husband financially to provide for the family. She deals in secondhand clothes. Adwoa procures bales of textiles from Accra and hawks (sells door-to-door) to sell in her community. She also treks to sell in other towns as well. She has been in business for three years and wants a loan to procure bales of textiles in bulk. Adwoa is hopeful to give her children the best education she can afford.
