Sakina Bashir Ahmad Group

Sakina baji is the mother of five kids: four sons and one daughter. Her first two sons work in a factory for a monthly wage. The others are enrolled in a school and are getting education. Sakina baji successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying again for a loan to buy utensils to expand her husband’s business.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Bushra baji wants a loan to buy a buffalo for a milk business. Naziran baji wants a loan to buy scrap for a scrap business. Shamim akhtar baji wants a loan to buy snacks (chips, biscuits) to sell. Sakina baji wants a loan to buy cooking oil to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
