Alima Mensah

Alima Mensah is twenty-eight years old. She is married and has four children, one son and three daughters. She says all her children are currently in junior high and primary schools. Alima lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a busy fishing/commercial town called Mankessim, near Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana.

She works to help her husband provide for the family. Her husband is a commercial driver while she is a food vendor. She sells fried yam and fish. Alima procures tubers of yam all the way from Atebubu in the northern sector. She sells by the road side from afternoon to evening. Alima has been in business for eight years and wants a loan to procure goods in bulk. She is hoping to expand her business and give her children the best of education she can afford.
