Hawa Idi

Hawa Idi is forty-six years old. She is married and has three children, one son and two daughters. According to her, one of her children is currently in senior high school while the rest are in junior high and primary schools. She lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a busy fishing/commercial town called Mankessim, near Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana.

She works to help her husband provide for the family. Her husband is a commercial driver. Hawa is a food vendor. She sells plantain chips. She fries them in her house and sells them by the roadside. She also hawks to sell. Hawa procures plantains and vegetable oil from the local market. She has been in business for five years and wants a loan to procure plantains in bulk. Hawa is hoping to expand her business and give her children the best education she can afford.
