Leticia

Leticia, 29, has spent most of her years trying to improve her life. She lives in the family house with her only daughter, Sheyla, who is nine. Her daughter is the motivation for all of Leticia’s efforts.

Leticia’s business is located in the Laguna Temporal plaza (place where they have the markets in the city of Juliaca). She sells the artisan weaving that she makes to the people who go to the market. Tourists primarily buy her garments. They do not miss the opportunity to buy something typical of the country. What she likes best about her work is talking with her neighboring sales people and finding out what has been happening at the market. She has been doing this for eight years. What she likes the least is having to stay all day inside her stall without being able to go anywhere. In the future she hopes to have a store where she can sell her craft work more comfortably.

This is her third loan with MFP. Leticia knows that she has to make her payments on time, and she is prepared to do so. She is a happy and cooperative member of her community bank. With the loan for 1,500 PEN she will buy wool to make more craft work.

Leticia tiene 29 años, la mayor parte de esos años los ha pasado tratando de mejorar su vida, vive en la casa de sus familiares junto a su única hija Sheyla de 9 años, quien es la motivación de todos sus esfuerzos. Su negocio está ubicado en la explanada Laguna Temporal (lugar donde se realizan ferias en la ciudad de Juliaca), los tejidos artesanales que elabora los vende a la gente que concurre a la feria, sus prendas son compradas sobre todo por los turistas, quienes no pierden la oportunidad de llevarse algo típico a sus países. Lo que más le gusta de su trabajo es conversar con sus vecinas de venta e informarse de las cosas que suceden en la feria, lleva 8 años realizando esta actividad y lo que menos le gusta es tener que permanecer todo el día dentro de su puesto sin poder salir a ningún lado. Espera tener más adelante una tienda donde pueda vender sus artesanías con más comodidad. Este es el tercer préstamo de Leticia con MFP, sabe que tiene que pagar sus cuotas puntualmente y está dispuesta a hacerlo, en su banco comunal es una socia muy alegre y colaboradora. Con los mil quinientos soles solicitados comprará más lana para tejer más artesanías.
