Florinda is 46 years old, married, with 7 children. Only 2 of her children currently live with her in the house she owns, and they help her with her agricultural work. Calm and serene like the chamomile in her plots, Florinda poses in one of her fields.

The past few years have been very profitable, since every time she goes to the city she always takes her maté herbs and with the earnings she covers the cost of the trip. In additional to chamomile, she also grows potatoes, olluco (another root vegetable), and peas. She has done agricultural work her whole life, and she is very happy with this work, which has allowed her to educate her children and provide them with a very comfortable life. Once her crops are harvested, she prefers to sell them in markets in Lima, because they are more profitable than the markets in Tarma. She is now planning to start an Internet service for her youngest daughter who is studying in the city, in order to help pay the costs of her education.

Florinda is the founder of her communal bank. She is the president, and through various consecutive loans she has shown herself to be very responsible in each of her payments. The money she is requesting is for the purchase of chemical fertilizers for her potato and olluco crops.
