Yasmeen baji is 36 year old lady and a citizen of the city of Lahore, Pakistan for the past 15 years. Lahore city is famous for its historical places and for its Punjabi food. She successfuly repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy seasonal vegetables for her husband’s business.

Her husband’s name is Asad ullah. He deals in vegetables. He has 5 years of experience in this business. They are parents to six kids: five daughters and one son. All of their kids are getting an education. Yasmeen baji is a very hardworking lady. She sews clothes by taking orders from her neighbors and charges $2 per stitching. She does this work to pay off the school fees of her kids.

She is the group leader of three other women from her locality. Razia begum baji wants a loan to buy paintbrushes to sell. Jamila baji and Asia baji each want a loan to buy gentlemen’s undergarments to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
